Since 1955, Spoolex has been engineering and manufacturing converting equipment and components through its two brands Calemard and Roll Concept.
✅Calemard, our Converting machinery Division, has been engineering and manufacturing off-line or in-line slitter-rewinders, spooling lines and roll-to-roll machines for 68 years now. Thanks to this great expertis we are recognized as an expert in sensitive materials processing.
Calemard’s machines are able to convert:
- narrow strips (down to 2 mm!),
- with low and accurate tension control/regulation,
- precise strip conveying/guiding and optimized winding patterns (digital technology).
The result is always compact rolls with consistent tension, clean and straight edges for easy use on downstream processes.
Moreover, with an all in-house organization (from engineering to put in production), our customers can rely on our experts to carry out innovative and customized solutions. Our integrated R&D and Engineering department also allows us to offer automated or semi-automated solutions for loading/conveying/unloading/packing operations.
✅ This Engineering department is also a key asset for Roll Concept, our technical rollers division.
Indeed, our Spoolex mechanical engineers are used to design converting machinery and so, to resolve inertia and mechanical stress. Thanks to this expertise, Roll Concept designs and manufactures standard or customized industrial idler rollers, chill rolls and winding cores/mandrels, technically and economically defined to answer your process requirement.
Based on a specific Alveolus profile named Alveotube™, the wide range of solutions offered by Roll Concept are specially engineered:
- to improve process performance – by reducing web tension on the process
- and/or to help to save energy.
Roll Concept is also the European distributor for DFE web tension control solutions.
